HELLO AND WELCOME
Are you considering counselling?
I am here if you need support navigating the highs and the lows that life brings
I am here if you need support navigating the highs and the lows that life brings
I am a person-centred counsellor who is passionate about supporting people to recover, heal, grow, and live their best and most authentic lives.
Sometimes all we need is someone to listen to us, and to believe in us. Counselling can provide such a space, and this is powerful enough to change lives.
Before becoming a counsellor, I studied Mathematics and worked as a secondary school teacher and personal tax accountant. These experiences have given me strong problem-solving skills and the ability to see things from different perspectives. I have also worked in NHS administration for over 17 years, so have good medical knowledge and understanding of the healthcare system and patient pathways.
My training was in Glastonbury, so I am open-minded and can provide a psycho-spiritual approach if requested.
My professional experience includes working with adults struggling with various issues, both in-person and online, through counselling agencies. I now work in private practice.
I also bring personal lived experience, which includes chronic illness, financial hardship, rebuilding identity, being othered, and surviving abuse, which deepens my empathy and ability to hold space for others. I am a committed LGBTQIA+ ally.
As a person-centred counsellor, I recognise that all of my clients are unique. They have different needs, likes and dislikes, and their own journeys. In order to best support my clients, I spend some time getting to know them and build a relationship rooted in trust, compassion, and authenticity. Together, we then explore what they need from counselling, and they set the therapeutic goals and the pace.
My role is to support clients as they process past experiences, develop self-understanding, and work towards their goals, ultimately reaching a place where they feel confident and empowered enough to no longer need counselling.
I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework and attend regular clinical supervision to ensure my practice is safe, ethical, and effective.
Before commencing counselling, we need to go through an initial assessment. This can take up to an hour, and is an opportunity to see if we can work well together. This is free, and you are under no obligation to continue counselling following this. I am here to help you find the best support, and can signpost if required.
If you would like to pursue counselling with me, each session is 50 minutes long. We will agree to meet online using a platform you are comfortable with on a set day and time every week / fortnight / month. If you need to change your allocated timeslot we can do this, just let me know.
Please attend from a comfortable and confidential space. I will ask you for the address of where you are in case risk escalates in order to keep you safe.
I am offering new clients a block of six counselling sessions for £100. If you decide to finish counselling before the six sessions are up, I will refund you the remaining amount. If you decide to continue counselling after the six sessions, it will be £20 per session and this should be paid by bank transfer before every session.
Alternatively, sessions are £25 each to be paid via bank transfer or PayPal.
I am offering low cost counselling as a mutually beneficial deal. Clients can access counselling at a reasonable price that will not become a financial burden, and I am able to offer my services to more people and increase my counselling experience.
